Knowledge Competition from Universal Institute

"Knowledge is power" is a universal truth. To sharpen the knowledge of present day youth, a knowledge competition was organized at Universal Institute, Salmiya on 2nd December, 2011. This competition was organized particularly for the senior secondary commerce students.

Students from Carmel School, Indian Academy English School, Jabriya Indian School, United Indian School, India International School, Al-Amal Indian School, Fahaheel Al-Watania Indian Private School, Indian Central School and Indian Educational School participated in the competition. Girls outnumbered the boys among the participants. All the participants sat for one hour written examination and the results were announced immediately after the competition. Mr. Anis Ahmad, Director, Salmiya Indian Model School, Kuwait, graced the occasion and gave away the prizes. In his brief address he congratulated all the prize winners and other participants. He also pointed out that the spirit of participation is more important than winning or losing.

Ms. Sonal Mashankar of Indian Educational School got the first prize of KD.100/-. For the second place there was a tie between Ms. Smrti Ganapathy of Carmal School and Ms. Geethu Treesa Matam of Indian English Academy School. As per the competition rules, lots were drawn and Ms. Smrti Ganapathy of Carmal School won second prize of KD.75/- and consolation prize of KD.25/- was awarded to Ms. Geethu Treesa Matam of Indian English Academy School..
